Techniques
There are different styles of acupuncture, but at Traditional Chinese Acupuncture we are using acupuncture techniques based on Chinese Medical knowledge. We only use single-use sterile needles which are discarded appropriately after each treatment. Other techniques which may be used during treatment are:

  • Acupressure: pressure stimulation of an acupuncture point
  • Laser stimulation: Laser stimulation on an acupuncture point
  • Massage: Therapeutic massage applicable where sensible
  • Moxibustion therapy: Use of burning the herb mugwort (Artemisia vulgaris) to stimulate an acupuncture point
  • Heat Therapy: Is relaxing for muscles and comforting at the same time
  • The use of suction cups: Often used to relieve muscle tension. They work like inverted massages
  • Ear acupuncture: Using press-tack needles to stimulate ear-acupuncture points (very useful for permanent acupuncture effect e.g. against nausea-morning sickness)
  • Breathing exercises: To promote healing and well being and to create awareness of your body
