What
can it do for me?
Acupuncture is very holistic, counts many healing benefits and is very
appropriate for sport injuries, as well as relaxation, stress relief,
headaches and migraines, women’s health (fertility, obstetrics,
and gynaecology), common colds, back and neck pain among many other health
issues. See also “what it
can treat”.
Does
it have any side effects or is it contraindicated for some conditions?
Acupuncture is in general very beneficial, but rules of special care apply
to small children, elderly and pregnant women. Generally there is no limit
of age or condition to an acupuncture treatment, but small children and
babies might be treated by acupressure or acupuncture laser stimulation.
This is a safe treatment involving the insertion of tiny sterile (and
disposable) needles through the skin, which can produce a mild but temporary
discomfort (usually achiness or soreness) at the acupuncture site. It
can occasionally cause slight bleeding, and will rarely leave a bruise
(not painful). Other possible risks from acupuncture include dizziness
and fainting.
Please advise the practitioner if you are pregnant, have a pacemaker,
hepatitis, AIDS or any other infectious conditions.
How
many visits do I need?
This really depends on the condition you are presenting with and what
you would like to gain from acupuncture therapy. Some acute conditions
can be healed after only one visit, while a supportive pregnancy treatment
will guide you through pregnancy and even beyond if you wish so.

long will one treatment take?
